Everything goes above and beyond. You cannot go wrong with any meal that you get here. The seafood is made fresh and the shrimps were so good. The calamari was also light, crunchy and a wonderful appetizer overall. From the start to finish our whole family of five was raving over how good everything is! Service was kind and immediate. Everyone seeks to provide high quality service and food. We felt nourished not only physically but holistically. The restaurant is located at the second floor. The whole atmosphere reminds me of home. This is what a restaurant must be. We can see why Barack Obama has also visited this place.
This was our first time trying a new restaurant in little Italy! We have a go to! But it was worth it! Took my aunt and mother in law. Type a place for out of town family and date night! We took the family and the kids ate up the warm unlimited bread and pasta (different pasta choices for the kids and sauces)! Service was great and place was clean and Italian style! Definitely go and try and take that special someone. Try the pistachio gelato 🍨 after. Good stuff!
Ristorante Illando is a gem in Little Italy. The atmosphere is amazing—quiet, cozy, and truly feels like a slice of Italy. They served complimentary bread served with oil and balsamic, which was a great touch. I had the wedge salad to start—crisp, fresh, and delicious. For my main, I ordered the fettuccine gamberi e pancetta, and it was absolutely fantastic. What really elevated the experience was the service—Luca was an amazing waiter. Attentive, friendly, and made the whole evening even better. Everything from the ambiance to the food made this a standout experience. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.
Wow! What a treat to come across this place! Never been to San Diego (or even CA) and did a quick search for good restaurant in little Italy for two parents and a young adult child. This was highly recommended and absolutely exceeded our expectations! We were able to make a reservation online and get to the restaurant within a little over half hour. We were seated immediately upstairs in the small but comfortable restaurant that really felt like the extension of someone’s home! The service was amazing. SO friendly and welcoming. So very kind. We ordered calamari, burrata app, lobster ravioli, chicken Alfredo fettuccini, bottle of rose, cannolis, coconut sorbet…… We all agreed that everything that came out tasted almost even better than the last. But it was all so delicious! Heavenly! Really wonderful experience. We asked our server if she was the owner and she seemed flattered, said she was a manager. She appeared to us to be the queen of the floor and ran the entire dining area like a very happy and joyous dinner party! When and if we come back to SD, we will definitely return. Will recommend to friends as well! ❤️
Really nice service and atmosphere and a fun location in Little Italy. I got the Lobster Ravioli which was pretty good, but it was the vodka sauce on it that made it stand out. It was a really good sauce! My husband got the chicken parm and it was huge! He said it tasted very fresh. Nice restaurant!
