Reviews
After more than 28 years of dining at Verdi's, I'm saddened to leave a one-star review. From the moment we walked in, there was a noticeable sulfur/sewer odor. More concerning, one of our veal entrées was served significantly undercooked. Despite multiple attempts to get our server's attention, no one checked on our table. When we finally explained the issue, there was no apology, no offer to replace the meal, and no effort to make things right. When we asked to speak with the owner, he was dismissive, unprofessional, and the conversation ultimately escalated to foul language. That level of behavior from an owner is unacceptable. Mistakes happen in every restaurant, but customer service is what matters most. After nearly three decades as loyal customers, this experience was incredibly disappointing, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.
Great family owned walkable dinner near the north part of the beach. The staff was warm and welcoming to our crew of 9 with 5 kids. The server, Christina from Romania was excellent, The Lamb, Halibut Special, and the Octopus Appetizer were all excellent. The food was paced well, and prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. For us 10/10!
Wonderful restaurant in Marco Island! The food was excellent and plentiful. The parmesan baked scallops appetizer was sooo good and the baked brie was as well. The menu has a great variety of offering as well as gluten free items. Anne our server was very attentive and fun. We will definitely go again!
We were here on my Birthday evening a few days ago. A mixed bag .. The good: They wrote Happy Birthday on our tablecloth and wished me a Happy Birthday. A nice touch. Server was quick to welcome us and walked through the specials. The rack of lamb was beautifully prepared and well flavored. The special for the night Shrimp Scampi was also a hit for a member of our party. The bad: They had the door open when we arrived (Thursday night dinner) and left it open for most of the meal service. Flies flew in and the restaurant was not as cool due to the door being open. The shrimp and scallops was sloppily assembled and not prepared like the expensive dish it was. Where was the care and distinctive flavors on this dish? The bigger issue was the wait staff. Our server, a seemingly nice woman who spoke Portuguese and Spanish, was thoroughly engrossed in another table that spoke Spanish. We barely saw here after they arrived. She was rushed and not clear with us on menu choices. Very disappointing. Never saw a manager or anyone else who asked how was our meals. We used to love Verdi’s, but they now lack a lot of appeal after this experience.
I made reservations online at opentable a week in advance as we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. I requested a quiet booth and was texted back twice, that it would be ready. We arrived early, thinking we'd sit at the bar until our table was ready. The owner said he didn't know about our reservation and didn't even try to explain the error. We've been going there for the past three years but will not return.
